Willing to leave her comfort zone, Verónica Domingues went from Sports Science to Project Management and is currently Agile and CAPM certified!
What was your field of study and/or profession before starting the Rumos Academy?
Before joining the Project Manager Academy, my field of study was Sports Science. My bachelor’s degree was in Sports Science and my master’s degree was in Physical Education Teaching in Middle School and Secondary School.
Why did you decide to attend the Rumos Academy?
I decided to attend this Academy because I was looking for new job opportunities outside of my field of study, so I enrolled at Rumos and took the Project Manager course.
Did the Academy meet your expectations? What are the main positive aspects of the training program?
Yes, the Academy fully met my expectations. Contrary to my colleagues, I was one of the students with no training experience in the field, but that was never a reason for me to feel like I knew less than them. Everything is very well thought out and designed - the way the lessons were taught the content, and the Academy program, allowing those from different fields to easily learn and acquire the necessary knowledge to complete the training program.
What impact has the Academy had or will have on your professional career?
Since I am not currently working in my field of study, I hope this Academy and the certifications I have earned will allow me to find a job in a different field.
What advice would you give to someone considering attending a training program like this?
If you want to learn more about Project Management, exchange knowledge with your colleagues, better understand the Agile methodology, and become PMI certified, go for it!
Would you attend a Rumos training program again?
Absolutely! It was an extremely enriching and rewarding experience, I was able to share professional experiences with my colleagues and learn and grow in a field outside of my comfort zone.
