The Microsoft Discovery Days online event is back

Explore the fundamentals of cloud computing through these free training sessions and take your first steps into the world of the cloud.

22 January, 2024

Following the success of the 2023 edition, Rumos is organizing the Microsoft Discovery Days once again, a series of three free Live Training sessions (synchronous online) focused on Microsoft technologies, covering three specific areas: Cloud, Data, and Business Applications. These sessions also provide free access to a Microsoft certification exam.

The 2023 edition had over 700 registrations, and more than 70 individuals proceeded to take their Microsoft certification exam.

Dedicated to Azure technologies, Azure Data Services, and Power Platform, the Microsoft Discovery Days sessions are intended for business managers, IT professionals, and anyone starting to work on solutions and services based on these tools.

The event begins on March 1st with the session "Step into the Azure Cloud," from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. It will cover fundamental concepts of cloud computing, its models and services – public, private, and hybrid cloud, as well as the fundamentals of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), making the most of the key pillars of security, privacy, and compliance in Microsoft Azure.

On June 11th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the session "Step into the Azure Data Services" will take place. As different sectors of the company handle data differently, leading to different conclusions within the same organization, extracting new ideas from available information becomes challenging, generating unnecessary costs. This session will provide basic knowledge about Azure's cloud data services, explore relational and non-relational data solutions, including key features and provisioning, as well as learning about big data and data warehouse analysis solutions.

Finally, on October 25th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the session "Step into the Power Platform" will occur. Microsoft predicts that over 500 million new applications will be built in the next five years, more applications than all those built in the last 40 years combined. This session will help initiate the creation of useful applications that analyze real-time business performance, act based on insights from this analysis, automate workflows for maximum efficiency, and learn to use Dataverse to securely store and manage data.

Participation in the Microsoft Discovery Days training includes access to Microsoft pre-training materials and exam vouchers. These vouchers will be awarded to participants who attend a minimum of 70% of the live training session, complete a non-anonymous questionnaire, and redeem the Microsoft badge.

Although participation in the event is free, seats are limited, so registration is required. Learn more about these sessions and how to register at the links above.
