The Quality Assurance Tester Academy was one of the new 2022 training programs and is now in its third edition. The first edition resulted in a very united class and in professionals fully prepared to contribute to the field of software testing and quality assurance. This is the case of Ricardo Miranda, who decided to change his career and enter the IT world.

What was your field of study and/or profession before starting the Rumos Academy?

I have a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a postgraduate degree in Digestive Endoscopy. I worked as a nurse for eight years.

Why did you decide to attend the Rumos Academy?

Information and computer science has always been my hobby. Whenever I needed something, I would study and explore until I could solve the problem. It was always something I found really easy. While talking to a friend, I found out that he was going to change his field of work, and he told me about the Quality Assurance field and the reputation of this particular training organization - Rumos. That moment was a call for a change and so I decided to enroll at Rumos.

Did the training program meet your expectations?

It exceeded all my expectations. From the very first day, I was very well received and clarified about the Academy to make sure it was really what I thought it was. Then, those in charge of the Academy course do an exemplary job. I was never left without an answer. And finally, the quality of all the professionals who show immense wisdom and passion for teaching.

What impact has the Academy had on your professional career?

The Academy not only opened my eyes to the world of IT, but it also opened the doors to the world of work in IT. Just before completing the Academy, I received three job offers.

What advice would you give to someone considering attending a training program like this?

Go for it, unafraid. But bear in mind that it takes dedication and effort to succeed. Rumos gives us the tools, but it’s up to us to make something out of them.
